Launched by Mayor Bass, Shine LA is a citywide movement that strengthens communities by uniting Angelenos to beautify neighborhoods across Los Angeles. With major global events on the horizon—the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games—Shine LA inspires residents to take pride in preparing their communities to shine on the world stage.
Since its launch in April, Shine LA has engaged more than 2,000 volunteers in service days across over 30 neighborhoods, from San Pedro and Koreatown to Pacoima, Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, and South LA. Activities have included tree planting, utility box painting, litter cleanups, and educational workshops on composting.
Shine LA takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month in neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles.
