Audubon Center at Debs Park

Description

The Audubon Center at Debs Park is a community hub for environmental justice and advocacy in Los Angeles and throughout the Audubon network. Located in Montecito Heights within the 282-acre Ernest E. Debs Regional Park—home to more than 140 bird species—the Center connects people to nature right in the heart of the city.

One of the most meaningful ways to support the Audubon Center is by volunteering your time. Whether it’s restoring habitats, counting Western Monarch butterflies, or participating in community science projects, volunteers of all ages play an essential role in strengthening the bond between people and the natural world. Opportunities range from one-time drop-in days to long-term commitments, with activities including habitat restoration, educational outreach, and community events. Together, these efforts help create bird-friendly environments while fostering environmental stewardship for the future.

Ages: All ages are welcome, those under the age of 14 must have a parent accompanying them. Those 14-17 must have a signed waiver from their parents to participate by themselves.
